Recently, some players have reported that after changing the store region on their Steam accounts to buy games in another region, they were unable to switch back. Today, Unbannow will show you how to change your Steam store region and how to switch it back to the China region.
First, log in to the Steam platform with your own account. In the top-right corner, click your account name and go to “Account details”, then click “Change store country/region”.
Next, click “Contact Support” and explain in detail on the Steam support page why you want to change your region. Steam determines your region based on your network location.
Click “Contact Steam Support”, send the information you just filled in to Steam Support, and then patiently wait for their reply.
Later, when you want to switch back to the China region, first pick any game in the China store and add it to your shopping cart. At this point, turn off the acceleration in Qiyou Accelerator, refresh the Steam page, and make sure you’re connecting to Steam with your normal (direct) network.
On the checkout page, there will be an option to select your country. Choose China.
Then proceed to payment, select Alipay as your payment method, and once the purchase goes through successfully, your Steam store region will be switched back to the China region.
One important thing to keep in mind: after a successful payment, do not casually refund this game, or your Steam account may easily get flagged with a red mark by Steam
